Clarence has over 18 years of corporate & investment banking (coverage, corporate finance, fundraising, IPO, m&a) and venture capital experience across Asia covering the Technology, Offshore Marine, Consumer, Travel & Hospitality and Real Estate sectors. He has completed over US$2b of transactions and brings with him an established regional network of corporates & startups, strategic and financial investors (private equity, venture capital firms, sovereign wealth funds, family offices), entrepreneurs, C-level executives, government agencies and other partners across Asia.

He was previously a Director & Venture Partner at Kaizen Private Equity, a MAS-licenced education-focused private equity firm that seeks to back entrepreneurs that are solving the key challenges facing the Future of Learning and Future of Work in Emerging Asia. In 2020, he successfully helped to launch Velocity Ventures,  the first travel & hospitality focused VC fund in South-East Asia and led fundraising and co-investments for the firm.

Prior to that, he was Director of South-East Asia Corporate Finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and led fundraising and m&a advisory for companies in the Consumer and Technology sector. In 2015-2018, he served as Head of Investment Banking for the Bank of China in Singapore, where he set up the investment banking division and oversaw the origination and execution of China-South-East Asia m&a and IPO transactions in the Logistics and Real Estate sectors.

He is passionate about technology and the new economy, having invested in many angel/venture investments and serves as Adviser to entrepreneurs/Founders on go-to-market strategies, fundraising and m&a. Clarence holds a MSc in Corporate Finance from EDHEC Business School and Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA Singapore), and is an alumnus of Raffles Institution and Raffles Junior College. In his free time, Clarence is also a competitive amateur tennis and padel player.
